A local community volunteer effort in year 2006 embarked upon to address the
girls’ education issues in Warah District Kamber shahdad kot, Sindh. This volunteer initiative took
structured shape of CDN. Between years 2006-2008, CDN opened and managed 25 girls’ community schools, in
partnership with Sindh Education Foundation (SEF). Later, in year 2008, it got registered and with the
support of Trust for Voluntary Organization (TVO) expanded its programs to women and child health issues.
During the flood emergency response in year 2010 and 2022, CDN provided relief items, created awareness on
community health & hygiene, mother & child health, protection of children, women elderly and person with
disabilities.
Education is the core service CDN has focused on since its inception. CDN currently
manages a network of 32 educational intuitions (including primary, middle and high schools) where 1880
children (boys 1034, girls 846) are acquiring quality education. It has formed village education
committees, provided trainings to 384 teachers.
Over the last 14 years, CDN has worked with its targeted communities in District
Kambar Shahdadkot and Malir (Karachi) in its integrated activities spanning to education, health, WASH
and emergency response programs.
